New Zealand need to win against India in the third T20I at the Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Tuesday to keep the five-match series alive. The ‘Men in Blue’ hold a 2-0 lead coming into this game, with the ‘Black Caps’ needing a win to keep their slim hopes alive, and our match prediction backs a surprise home win here.
India won both the games of the series by four wickets – a high-scoring game on Thursday and a low-scoring thriller on Saturday – both coming at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
The ‘Black Caps’ will feel they should have closed out the game after restricting India to 112 for 6 but couldn’t do so. They have lost four in a row at home and need a quick turnaround. Glenn Phillips (70 and 82*) led the hosts with the bat, while captain Mitch Santner (six wickets, ER 7.50) has been a revelation with the ball.
The ‘Men in Blue’ had different players to thank for the two wins. While Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, and Naman Dhir led them in the first match, Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy were the stars in the second. In fact, Dhir (73 runs) continues to impress with his all-round contributions, but India will hope for better returns from Bhuvneshwar Kumar (8-0-99-1), whose comeback hasn't yet worked wonders.

Our New Zealand vs India Prediction
The hosts had their moments in the series but lost out on both occasions to find themselves 2-0 down. Be it posting a mammoth 225 in the first match or restricting India to 112 for 6 in the 181-run chase, New Zealand looked good value to win. Their poor run at home continues, but with the series on the line here, the ‘Black Caps’ could rise to the occasion.
New Zealand have lost nine of their last ten T20Is against India, but that script could change here. Our New Zealand vs India prediction is New Zealand wins.
