The Denver Nuggets travel to the Smoothie King Center to face the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA on Tuesday. The Pels (9-32) are bottom of the Western Conference standings, while the Nuggets (26-13) are third. Let’s get into the match prediction.
The New Orleans Pelicans simply cannot get anything going this season. They have only won nine games and are 1-10 SU following a 128-118 loss to the Magic on Sunday.
Against Orlando, the Pels held a seven-point lead heading into the final quarter, but then came the collapse, as they allowed 37 points in Q4 to lose by 10. That isn’t a huge surprise, though, given they have the fourth-worst defensive rating in the league.
One positive for New Orleans is that Zion Williamson is finally getting a consistent run of games and leads the team with 22.8 PPG. However, Jose Alvarado, Herbert Jones and Dejounte Murray are sidelined.
Meanwhile, after a slight slump, the Denver Nuggets are trending upward again recently, and notched up their third win in four on Sunday when they edged the Bucks 108-104.
The most promising thing for the Nuggets is that they have found ways to win without Nikola Jokic, with the likes of Tim Hardaway Jr and Aaron Gordon stepping up significantly.
Jokic, Jonas Valanciunas, Christian Braun and Cam Johnson are still out for Denver at present, but Jamal Murray could return to the lineup for this one.
