Third-placed New England Revolution will take on Chicago Fire, who are second-from-bottom in the MLS Eastern Conference, on Sunday. The hosts are currently six points behind the leaders, Cincinnati, while the visitors are two points off the foot of the table. New England’s bright start to the season has been halted in recent weeks following back-to-back losses to Inter Miami and Philadelphia Union in their last two matches. The hosts have been overtaken by Nashville into second; however, they have played a game less. Over their last six matches, New England Revolution have won two, drawn two, and lost two, though they are on a three-match losing streak in all competitions. To date, the Revolution have lost three league games, all in away matches. At home though, they are unbeaten in six matches this term with four wins and two draws. The last time these sides met, it ended in a 1-1 draw, but carrying solid home form into this one, the hosts will be expecting a win this time around. 

Meanwhile, Chicago Fire played out an entertaining 3-3 draw to Atlanta United in their last match. With that result, the visitors have only managed one win in their last seven matches, along with three draws and three losses. With the league table still being fairly compact, Chicago finds themselves seven points off the top four sides and can make their way up the table by putting a run of strong results together. However, to do that, they will need to address their poor away record, which reads as four losses and just one win in their first five matches on the road. Chicago are on a three-match losing run in away league matches. The visitors have failed to beat this opposition in their last eight attempts, losing three and drawing five. They will likely find it difficult to take anything from the Revolution on their home patch.
