Nathan Aspinall and Leonard Gates will face off in the evening session on Day 12 at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship. The winner of this match between The Asp and Soulger will meet either David Munyua or Kevin Doets in the third round. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Nathan Aspinall has been enjoying an excellent 2025 season and kicked off his World Championship campaign with an impressive 3-1 victory over Lourence Ilagan. 

The Asp was certainly tested by the Filipino despite what the scoreline suggests, and had to average 94.01 to keep his opponent at bay. He also made 44% of checkout attempts and recorded a Big Fish highest checkout. 

Aspinall has now won seven of his last 10 matches in all competitions, including reaching the final of the Players Champions final last month. 

Meanwhile, Leonard Gates produced a massive effort in the first round to see off Micky Mansell 3-2 in a match that saw 19 legs played before the American secured the result. 

Soulger only managed one 180 in the match but maintained a three-dart average of 87.05. However, his checkout rate of 27.78% will need to improve in this match against a much tougher opponent. 

This match is more than just about the result for the American; it’s a chance to exact revenge, having lost to this opponent in this competition last year.
