The first round of the 2025 World Series of Darts finals at the AFAS Live in Amsterdam will draw to a close with Nathan Aspinall taking on Dave Chisnall on Saturday. The winner of this match between the Asp and Chizzy will face either Jonny Tata or Ross Smith in round two. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Nathan Aspinall will be returning to the WSOD finals this year after being forced to withdraw due to an injury in 2024. He was defeated in the final of the 2023 edition by Michael van Gerwen.
The Asp has enjoyed an impressive year, winning the 2025 European Darts Trophy, while also reaching the semi-final of the Premier League for the first time in his career.
Aspinall suffered a shock defeat to Leon Weber at the PC27 event this week and has now split his last 10 matches across all competitions, five wins and five defeats.
Meanwhile, Dave Chisnall is making his second successive WSOD finals appearance after missing out in 2023. He was eliminated in the first round of this competition last year.
Chizzy has not had the best year in 2025 either, as he has yet to win a Major title, with his best performance being a final appearance at the Players Championship 15 event.
The Englishman bowed out in the second round of the PC27 event this week and is 5-5 in his last 10 matches across all competitions.
