Two struggling sides, Nantes and Metz are set to face off in Ligue 1, with Nantes hosting the Sunday fixture. Visiting Metz are deep in the relegation zone, five places behind 12th placed Nantes. Playing at home, Nantes will hope to make this work for them after recent struggles. They are coming from a 1-0 away win over Lorient, which also served their first clean sheet in four matches. Charles Castelletto scored the lone goal in their last match but Nantes weren’t really convincing. That was their second win in three matches, both victories coming in away matches. It will worry the hosts that they haven't done superbly at home, especially in recent games. To this game, Nantes carry a four-game losing run when playing at home in the league. A 1-0 win over Nice in December is their only home victory in the last seven outings at Stade de la Beaujoire. They managed just two goals in those seven home matches. At least one side failed to score in seven of their last 10 home matches in Ligue 1.

Metz are five points away from safety in a crowded race for survival, and three points here will do them a lot of good. They aren’t, however, coming into this game with a great run. Their last outing ended in a 2-1 loss at home to Lyon, leaving them 17th with as many points. Metz have managed just four wins in their 23 league matches this season. One of those wins came in their earlier meeting with Nantes this season. A 3-1 win at home means they come into this encounter unbeaten in their last two games against Nantes. Their latest defeat however leaves them without a win in their last 11 matches, a run Metz are desperate to end. It would help that Metz have only suffered one loss in eight meetings with Nantes. However, all these wins have come when they play at home and their away run coming here doesn’t look great. In five straight away league games, Metz have four losses.
