Moroka Swallows will play host to Mamelodi Sundowns in the PSL on Tuesday evening. The hosts are currently in 14th place while the visitors lead the league standings. After ending last season in the top half, Swallows have struggled to find top gear this season. They come into this match with 25 points after 23 games, eight points clear of Richards Bay, who currently occupy the sole relegation playoff spot. The Dube Birds suffered their tenth defeat of the season last week when they were beaten 1-0 by the Natal Rich Boys on the road. They have now only won one of their last 14 league games while drawing four and losing eight. The major downfall for Swallows this season has been their poor attacking output. In 23 league games this season, they have only found the net 16 times, making them the lowest-scoring team in the PSL this season. The hosts have failed to beat this opponent in their last six meetings (W0 D3 L3) and have been outscored 10-3 in that time. 

Sundowns are well on their way to a record-extending 14th PSL title. They are on 52 points after 20 matches and have opened up a 13-point advantage over the chasing pack while also having played two games fewer than the sides below them. The Brazilians are still on track for the treble this season after overcoming the University of Pretoria on penalties in the quarter-final of the Nedbank Cup on Friday night. They are also still standing in the CAF Champions League and notched up their 16th league win, beating Cape Town Stars 1-0 on the road last week. Sundowns are the only side in the South African top flight that is still unbeaten this season and while their attack has been potent, it has been their defense that has been most impressive. After 20 league games, the Brazilians have conceded a mere five goals and only two in their last ten league fixtures. These two played out a goalless draw last season but the visitors are the clear favourites in this one.
