Braga and Moreirense will face off in a Minho derby as they start off their 2026/27 Primeira Liga campaign. In the 2025/26 season, Braga finished fourth and Moreirense seventh. Both look to improve this season, but for this match, our prediction backs Braga to win, coming off three straight victories in Europe.
Moreirense are winless in their last 13 matches against Braga. All those ended in defeat, but they will be keen on taking advantage of playing at home and generally a fresh start.
Managing just one win in four preseason matches, however, paints a picture of a side still struggling. That won’t be covered by the fact that they only won twice in their closing 12 league games last season.
This encounter will find Braga ready and probably even fitter. The Archbishops are already three matches into the new season, as they are taking part in the Conference League.
