10th-place Borussia Monchengladbach host 12th-place Augsburg for this mid-table meeting on matchday 18 of the German Bundesliga. Monchengladbach came back from the winter break with an excellent 3-1 home victory over high-flying Stuttgart last weekend. They achieved this feat through effective counter-attacking as they were able to create four clear cut chances despite having just 29% of the possession. They’ll now attempt to win back-to-back league matches for just the first time in the 2023/24 campaign. Augsburg will be in for a struggle, however, as they have not put up good results on the road. The visitors have five defeats in their eight away trips with only a single victory to their name.
