Cercle Brugge will look to trip the stuttering Molde as the teams meet in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. This first-leg match will be played at the Aker Stadion on Thursday, and the prediction is for the visitors to return with at least a point.
The loser of this two-legged tie will be transferred to the Conference League Main Path play-off round, while the winner will move to the play-off round, where they play the winner of Rijeka vs Elfsborg. Molde could have had a better run-in to this match, having lost three of their last four matches. That included a 3-2 defeat in the second leg of the second qualifying round against Silkeborg. The visitors started their domestic league campaign with two straight defeats, so there’s enough motivation to turn up and perform on this trip.
Brugge have also started in the second qualifying round this season and have gotten the better of Kilmarnock 2-1 by aggregate, drawing 1-1 away from home and winning 1-0 at home.
