We’ve seen a trend form this year, where teams with the rest advantage coming into round two have performed poorly in Game 1, and that was the case again on Tuesday with the Minnesota Timberwolves. 

They looked completely off their game, particularly their shooting, as they converted just five of 29 attempts from beyond the arc - including missing their first 16 attempts from long range.

Anthony Edwards had far less of an impact than usual and finished with 23 points, while Rudy Gobert managed just nine points. Naz Reid was the standout with 19 points off the bench.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors now have the advantage in the series, and that was largely down to their shooting from distance, having drained 18 of 42 in Game 1 - 13 more than their opponents.

However, the win came at a cost, as Stephen Curry played just 13 minutes and was forced off with a hamstring strain, which is expected to keep him sidelined for at least a week. 

In Curry’s absence, Buddy Hield stepped up brilliantly with 24 points, Jimmy Butler added 20, and Draymond Green had a very good night with 18 points, including four of 10 from distance.
