There’s a grudge match brewing this weekend in the FA Cup First Round. MK Dons (formerly Wimbledon FC) host AFC Wimbledon, the team founded to replace them at Plough Lane. This is a cup tie that could see even a carefully considered prediction look silly. So, will the host Dons get the better of the visiting Wombles?
They certainly have plenty of incentive to do so after losing 3-0 to AFC Wimbledon earlier in the season. That game however was played at Plough Lane and AFC Wimbledon’s away form is nowhere near as impressive as their home form.
That is borne out by the recent history between the teams which has seen home wins in many recent fixtures. MK Dons also come into this game on the back of a three-game winning streak, which included last weekend’s 3-1 road victory at Grimsby Town. A result which left them eighth in the League Two table.
AFC Wimbledon lie 13th in the table although they have played three games fewer than most of their rivals. Their perfect 5-0-0 home record is the foundation for that but they have lost four of their six games on the road.
That included last weekend's 3-2 defeat away to League One leaders Port Vale.

Our Milton Keynes Dons vs AFC Wimbledon Prediction
Our prediction for the MK Dons vs. AFC Wimbledon FA Cup First Round clash is: MK Dons to win.
These two fierce rivals have met already this season, AFC Wimbledon winning 3-0 at home. But their record in Milton Keynes is very poor and their away form this season is also in sharp contrast to their excellent home form. MK Dons home form is not outstanding, but their recent form is very good and that may well be enough to carry them to the win in this cup tie.
