Millwall’s place in the Championship is secure even as they welcome battling Plymouth Argyle for their Saturday meeting. Placed 16th, Millwall aren’t in danger of relegation but their visitors sit just two points above the relegation region. A run that has won Millwall 20 points in their last 11 matches has been enough to earn them a place in the Championship next season. The managerial changes that brought club legend Neil Harris back proved to be the difference and Millwall can start planning for 2024/25. Three straight wins ahead of this clash definitely boosted their survival quest. One of them was against league leaders Leicester City, which without doubt proved their ability to challenge in the Championship. Duncan Watmore’s second goal in as many matches handed Millwall a 1-0 win in their last game, away to Sunderland. Those were three key points, confirming their survival. Playing their final game at home, where they are unbeaten in five matches, Millwall’s focus will be on wrapping up with three points. They have four wins in those five home matches and kept clean sheets in three of them.

In the first Championship meeting between these two sides since 2006, Millwall strolled to a 2-0 win in October. That extended Plymouth’s losing run in this fixture to four straight defeats. A similar result here will badly dent their survival hopes. Plymouth Argyle have 48 points, two better than the closest side in the relegation zone.
