A reviving Millwall team will play host to fellow Championship strugglers Birmingham City in their next league outing. Only one point separates the two in the standings with Millwall in 18th having the advantage over 20th-placed Birmingham. Millwall have been in splendid form since making a coaching change at the tail end of last month. The Lions replaced Joe Edwards with Neil Harris and the decision has turned out to be a masterstroke. Since then, they haven’t lost in three outings and have won twice. The seven points earned under Harris have moved Millwall two points clear of the relegation zone. Harris took over with the team sitting just above the drop zone in 21st place. Millwall drew 1-1 with Blackburn last time out. The reverse match in Birmingham back in September also ended 1-1.

With Millwall seeing a resurgence, Birmingham have continued to spiral down the standings. Tony Mowbray took over as new manager back in January and hasn’t been able to steer the team clear of relegation. He has overseen 12 matches across all competitions and has managed just four wins, one of which came in the FA Cup. Birmingham haven’t won in three outings after and have lost twice. They put a halt to the losing last time out with a 1-1 draw away to Hull. The draw allowed them to move a point clear of the relegation zone. Birmingham are tied on 39 points with 19th-placed QPR and are just one point from being second from bottom. But having not lost to Millwall in four meetings, the Blues will be confident of a positive result here. Birmingham won 1-0 the last time they were at the Den.
