The 2026 World Matchplay Round 1 action continues on Sunday afternoon with Michael van Gerwen facing Andrew Gilding. Goldfinger beat MVG last month on the European Tour, which sees us going with the value on the Englishman here as our main prediction.
Michael van Gerwen begins his quest for a fourth Phil Taylor Trophy as the number four seed this year. He was eliminated in Round 2 of this competition last year, 11-8 by Josh Rock.
