With the international break now complete, the A-League will resume this weekend with Melbourne Victory playing host to Adelaide United at AAMI Park on Saturday. The Big V are in fifth place, while the Reds are in sixth. Let’s get into the match prediction!
Melbourne Victory dropped a place in the league standings ahead of the international break when they suffered a 4-2 loss on the road to Western Sydney Wanderers, who moved up to third place as a result.
That defeat ended the Big V’s four-match unbeaten run and was the sixth time they conceded two or more goals in their last 11 league games since early January.
However, the hosts have been very good at home this season, conceding just one defeat to date, while scoring two or more goals in eight of their 10 matches at AAMI Park.
Meanwhile, Adelaide United will be hoping that the international break brings a change of fortune, having failed to win any of their last five games, losing three and drawing two.
Their last match was a nine-goal thriller, which they lost 5-4 at home to Macarthur. That was also the seventh game in the last 10 in which they conceded two or more goals.
The visitors have also experienced a notable downturn in results on the road, failing to win any of their last three games, while conceding three or more goals in each of those matches.

Our Melbourne Victory vs Adelaide United Prediction
While both these sides are looking to bounce back to winning ways, Adelaide United are certainly in greater need of three points, having failed to win any of their last five league games.
The major issue for the Reds has been the rate at which they have been conceding goals of late, and that does not bode well for their chances here against the Big V, who tend to score freely on their home patch. Our Melbourne Victory vs Adelaide United prediction is over 2.5.
