Marketa Vondrousova vs Xinyu Wang Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Berlin Open

Despite nine of the top ten entering the Berlin Open, no seeds have reached the final. Unseeded Marketa Vondrousova faces qualifier Xinyu Wang in this grass court title decider. Here’s our match prediction.

Marketa Vondrousova is playing in only her second grass court final. The other was two years ago when the Czech won the Wimbledon title. This is her first final on any surface since that Grand Slam triumph.

Since that great win there have been injury problems aplenty for Vondrousova. That explains why she began this tournament ranked 146th in the world. Excellent form has been shown in Berlin this week with three top 12 ranked players beaten.

Madison Keys and Diana Shnaider were defeated earlier in the week. Saturday saw her beat the world number one Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets.

Xinyu Wang had to play two qualifying matches just to get into the main draw of this WTA 500 tournament. Both went to a final set but the Chinese player has made it all the way to her first ever grass court final.

Wins have come against Daria Kasatkina, second seed Coco Gauff, Paula Badosa and in her semi-final, Ludmila Samsonova. The 23-year-old is now a career-high 32nd and could be seeded at Wimbledon.
