The pressure will be on Marketa Vondrousova when she plays Olga Danilovic in the United Cup. The Wimbledon champion is representing the Czech Republic against Serbia in this final match in Group E. Currently top of the group are China who have beaten the Czechs 3-0 but lost to Serbia (who have Novak Djokovic in their team) 2-1. For the Czech Republic to have any chance of qualifying for the last eight they need to beat Serbia and win as many sets in the three matches as possible. Olga Danilovic was ranked 121st in the world when this United Cup began. In her one match played so far, Danilovic was beaten in straight sets by Zheng Qinwen winning only six games. The Serb was a career high 93rd in June 2023 and that was her first match since losing in the first qualifying round of the US Open to a player ranked outside the top 200.
