Half the eight seeded players in the Eastbourne grass court tournament are Argentinians. One of those is fifth-seeded Francisco Cerundolo who is the defending champion in this tournament. His title defence begins with a match against unseeded Marcos Giron in round one. Next up for the winner is a second round match against either qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka or  wild card Liam Broady. Cerundolo is 27th in the live rankings so will be seeded at Wimbledon where he's never made it past round two. The Argentinian won this title in 2023 beating Tommy Paul in the final. This is his second grass court tournament of the year. He had a tough draw at Queen's Club and lost to top seed Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.

Marcos Giron is up to 46th in the live rankings after a good week in Germany. The American reached the last eight of the Halle Open beating Andrey Rublev and Matteo Berrettini before losing to eventual runner-up Hubert Hurkacz. Giron made it to the second round in his other grass court tournament this year, beating Andy Murray but then being defeated by Jack Draper who went on to win the title. The 30-year-old has reached the second round at Wimbledon for the past three years. This is his first match against Cerundolo but he does look to be in the better form. We tip him to get the win in this match.
