Swedish side Malmo and PAOK’s focus on the Champions League playoffs will see them face off in the 3rd qualifying round. The first leg of this exciting tie will be staged in Sweden, Di Blåe hosting their visitors from Greece. Read on for the preview and our prediction for this match.

Malmo almost suffered an early exit from the competition at the hands of Faroe Islands side Kí. The Swedes held on for a 6-4 aggregate win after losing 3-2 in the return leg away from home. With that result, the hosts come here having lost two consecutive matches.

Malmo haven't enjoyed a great run in the Champions League even as they make a return after missing out last season. In their last 13 matches in this competition, they managed only two wins.

Greek champions PAOK have been out of the Champions League for longer. After a three-year absence, they returned in the 2rd qualifying round. Their ride in that round was smoother than Malmo’s as they registered straight wins, beating Borac Banja Luka 4-2 across the two legs.

As those were their opening matches of the new season, PAOK will feel fit enough to take on Malmo. They haven't lost a match in their last seven competitive outings and won each of the last six. PAOK will know this is a tougher game than in the previous round.
