Mallorca are 16th in La Liga and continue their relegation battle with a tough home game against second placed Girona. The home side are only six points above the relegation zone and have only won one of their last eight league fixtures. The Pirates do have a chance of European football next season as they play Athletic Bilbao in the final of the Copa del Rey in April. On their way to the final, they beat Girona 3-2 at home in the last eight. Home form for Mallorca has seeen them only win three league games this season. The same number have been lost and seven ended level. Goals have been a bit short of supply with 12 scored and a dozen conceded in those 13 home league matches. Three of their last five home league fixtures have seen under 2.5 goals scored.

There were plenty of goals in the reverse fixture between these two sides with Girona winning that match 5-3 last September. They begin this weekend in second spot in La Liga, six points behind leaders Real Madrid. Last weekend saw them beat Rayo Vallecano 3-0 at home and that was a much-needed victory. The White and Reds had lost their previous two La Liga fixtures at Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao who are currently fifth in the table. Those were the first two away league losses of the season for Girona with eight wins and three draws. We tip them to make it nine with a win against Mallorca.
