Chwalinska has been the surprise package at Roland Garros this season. Starting her campaign in the qualifying rounds, the 24-year-old has fought against the odds to reach this round.

It is her best-ever run at a major. Chwalinska, who is on her main draw debut in Paris, defeated former French Open semi-finalist Maria Sakkari in the last round. The Pole had won the opening two rounds without dropping a game in the second set.

Advancing to this round has catapulted her into the top 100 for the first time; she is now placed 75th in the live ranking.

Parry is also having a career-defining run in Paris and hopes to keep her campaign going. The Frenchwoman had never progressed past the third round in her home country's major.

She had three times exited the event without winning a match, most recently in last year’s edition. Parry shocked sixth seed and former FO semi-finalist Amanda Anisimova in the last round.

The 23-year-old won a hard-fought third set against the American via a tiebreaker. Improving to a 17-12 record with eight wins on clay, Parry has also made a huge leap in the world rankings.

Parry has moved up to 54th in the live ranking after jumping a massive 38 places.
