Madagascar’s B Team will be up against Eswatini on matchday two at the COSAFA Cup. The two are clashing in Group C of the competition, and below is our prediction of the match.
For a number of players drawn from Madagascar’s A Team, this will be a perfect chance to stake a claim for a regular place in the first team.
In their last outing during the World Cup qualifying matches in March, Madagascar were thrashed 3-0 at home by Ghana. That was their sixth defeat in the last 10 matches, and one of those losses was against Eswatini in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
In the opening leg of the said CHAN qualifier, Madagascar won 2-0, laying the ground for their advancement in the competition. However, Eswatini have an edge in this fixture with two wins in the four matches pitting the two nations.
Two of those meetings were in the COSAFA Cup, one ending in a win for Eswatini and the other a draw. Having won the recent matchup with Madagascar in December, Eswatini will be confident of extending their run against the island nation.
While they’ve lost three less than Madagascar in 10 matches, Eswatini have only won one more than their opponents in the same period.
