by Ian John in Championship Predictions
It's a match between the two 'worsts' in the Championship on Saturday! The team with the poorest home record, Luton Town, faces the team with the worst away record, Sheffield Wednesday, in a game that is now vital for both teams. Will our prediction back the Hatters or the Owls to claim the win? Or will we see a stalemate between the two strugglers?
Rob Edwards watched his Luton side suffer a hangover after being relegated from the Premier League last season. The Hatters lost three of their first four in the Championship, including both of their home games this season (4-1 to Burnley and 2-1 against QPR).
However, the manager will be happy that his team finally picked up three vital points last weekend when winning 1-0 at Millwall thanks to Teden Mengi's tenth-minute strike. That result moved Luton out of the relegation zone and up to 19th in the table.
The Owls of Sheffield Wednesday tie just one spot below Luton in the table with the same points total (four) from their five games. Danny Rohl's team have not won since beating Plymouth 4-0 on the opening day, losing three and drawing one of their next four Championship matches.
They did pick up a point last weekend in a 1-1 home draw against QPR, which ended a run of three successive league defeats without scoring a goal. They followed that up with an EFL third-round win: a battling 1-0 victory away at Steve Bruce's Blackpool in midweek.

Our Luton Town vs Sheffield Wednesday Prediction
Our prediction for Luton Town vs. Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship is: Under 2.5 Goals to be scored.
What does the data suggest when the team with the worst home record takes on the team with the worst away record? Not a great deal in terms of positive news for either team. However, what is abundantly clear is that both teams are struggling for goals and confidence. As such, a tight, edgy contest, which has happened in five of the past six games between the two opponents, looks likely with goals likely to be hard to come by.
