Luton Town vs QPR Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Just three days after they met in the Carabao Cup, Luton Town host Queens Park Rangers in the Championship on Friday night. The Hoops were victorious in the cup tie, winning 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw following an evenly-contested match. Will our prediction tip the Hatters to gain revenge?

It’s certainly not been the best start to life back in the Championship for Rob Edwards’ Luton. They were well beaten by Burnley in their opening game of the season, losing 4-1 at home. A 0-0 draw away to Portsmouth followed and last weekend they were defeated 1-0 by Preston North End. 

Those trio of results mean that with just a point so far this campaign, Luton lie 23rd in the table with only Cardiff City below them on goal difference. Even at this early stage of the season, this game has renewed importance for the Hatters given their position in the league table. 

Opponents Queens Park Rangers are not in a much better position at present, lying 20th in the league table after three games. They began the season poorly with a 3-1 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion but have since drawn their last two games in the league. 

The first was a creditable 2-2 draw away to Sheffield United and then last weekend they drew 1-1 at home to Plymouth Argyle. Their sole victory this campaign was a 2-1 win over Cambridge in the Carabao Cup First Round, although they did beat today’s opponent on penalties in midweek.

After the international break, Luton will travel to Millwall in the league, while QPR will head to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
