Luton Town could be pushed closer towards relegation as Portsmouth aim to increase their chances of safety when the sides meet in a matchday 35 encounter on Saturday. This match at Kenilworth Road between the bottom-placed Hatters and the 17th-placed Pompey comes with our prediction of a draw or an away win.

With 28 points, Luton are stuck at the bottom of the points tally and are five points away from safety. Portsmouth have 39 points and are nine points above the bottom three teams.

The Hatters were beaten 2-0 away at Watford last weekend, extending their winless run in all competitions to 13 matches, including ten losses. Their league record reads nine defeats and three draws in 12 matches as they search for a way to move up the ladder.

Their home form was an elixir not long ago, but Luton’s recent record doesn’t make for good reading. They lost three and drew two of their last five home league games.

That could be good news for Portsmouth, who won three games in a row after a 2-1 home win at QPR last weekend. This sequence of positive results gave them a buffer with the relegation zone.
