Luton Town’s next match in the Championship sees them host Oxford United at Kenilworth Road. Any prediction for this game is tricky, given both teams' inconsistent records this season. So, will our review of the match predict the Hatters fans to be celebrating or the U’s? Or is there another trend we can identify from the data?
Luton’s home form this season is very poor and must be a real concern for manager Rob Edwards. A 4-1 defeat to Burnley was followed by a 2-1 loss to QPR before they landed their first home win of the campaign, a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
However, a two-game winning streak, starting with a 1-0 win at Millwall and followed by the win over Wednesday, was ended at the weekend when the Hatters went down 3-1 on the road to Plymouth Argyle. That defeat leaves them in 19th position in the Championship table.
Oxford United’s form is easy to delineate. At home they are excellent winning four and drawing one of their five home games this season. That one draw came in last weekend’s game against promotion-chasing Burnley. That result left them eleventh in the league table.
Away from home, though, U’s have struggled, losing twice to Coventry (in league and cup) and also to Blackburn and Bristol City. It remains to be seen whether they can turn that poor run of away form around on Tuesday evening.

Our Luton Town vs Oxford United Prediction
Our prediction for the Luton Town vs. Oxford United Championship match is: Both Teams to Score - Yes.
The data for this fixture is intriguing. Luton have a poor home record of just one win this season. However, Oxford are yet to pick up a point on the road in the Championship, but have been solid at home. However, what is notable is that Luton have scored in each home game this season, while Oxford have done likewise away from home. While picking a result here is tough, backing both teams to score is a good option.
