Luke Humphries will kick off his 2025 Grand Slam of Darts campaign against Alex Spellman in the group stage on Saturday afternoon. Cool Hand and The Jackal are drawn alongside Nathan Aspinall and Michael Smith in Group A. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Luke Humphries is one of the favourites to win the Grand Slam of Darts title this year. He was crowned champion in 2023, but suffered a shock elimination in the group stage last year.
Cool Hand has had an impressive year, winning the Premier League, World Masters and US Darts Masters. His title tally would be much better had it not been for the form of Luke Littler this year.
Humphries lost to Gian van Veen in the final of the European Championship last month and suffered a first-round elimination against Robert Owen in the PC34 event last week.
Meanwhile, Alex Spellman is set to make his Grand Slam of Darts debut this year. He earned his spot by winning the CDC Continental Cup, but is the rank outsider in Group A.
The Jackal has done most of his best work on the CDC/USA circuit in 2025, with one of his biggest results being crowned the 2025 ADO 501 National Championship (USA) champion.
Spellman has lost his last three matches in the Modus Super Series coming into this competition, and lost his only previous match against Humphries 6-2 back in 2023.
