Liverpool and Crystal Palace are set to renew their rivalry, facing off for the third time this season. This time they meet at Anfield in the League Cup as the fourth round takes center stage midweek. Both teams will be looking to bounce back following losing outings in the Premier League over the weekend. We have a prediction for the match below.
Hosts Liverpool have had a poor run lately, which has culminated in their drop in the league standings. They will hope to do some recovery work here, to stay in the picture for some silverware. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are emerging as a force to reckon with.
They already triumphed over Liverpool twice this season. That was in the Premier League and the Community Shield. Can Liverpool’s Arne Slot drill his men to a win here, or will Oliver Glasner go out and torment their hosts once again?

Liverpool - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis
Liverpool are in crisis mode but will be happy to switch attention to cup competitions. The Reds are coming from a run of five losses in the last six matches. At one point seated safely atop the league table, it was Crystal Palace who first asked damning questions on their title credentials.
Liverpool failed, suffering their first defeat of the season. Things have been spiraling downward since, the Reds winning only once in the six matches that followed.
Their most recent was in the league against Brentford, and Liverpool once again suffered defeat, falling 3-2. Only one side this season has stopped Liverpool from scoring – Galatasaray – but it is in defence that they are doing poorly.
Liverpool were losing finalists in the League Cup last season.
Crystal Palace, like Liverpool, will also be targeting a return to winning ways. The Eagles have been one of the toughest sides to bring down but were felled by Arsenal in their last outing in the league.
While Palace gave a good account of themselves at the Emirates, Arsenal were in a class of their own.
Palace have frustrated a number of top sides over the past few months and will be glad to find Liverpool in their current form.
Having broken their FA Cup duck last season, Palace will be looking to go all the way in the League Cup.

Liverpool & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis
As Liverpool plot to bounce back, they will have to do with a few injuries here and there plus the expected squad rotation. Curtis Jones will be the first out of the team after he was withdrawn midway through the second half in the Brentford loss.
Jones’ injury remains unspecified, but he enters the infirmary that already has Alexander Isak (groin).
Ryan Gravenberch, Alisson Becker, and Jeremy Frimpong will all sit out injured as well, leaving Arne Slot with a defensive headache.
Palace’s impressive defensive pairing of Lacroix and Guehi is in line for another start.
Liverpool are expected to have good depth for this game. The same can’t be said of Crystal Palace, who, with the addition of European assignments, could have a jaded squad to pick from.
Eddie Nketiah has been coming off the bench a lot, but here he could earn his start. The former Arsenal man will fancy another key goal against Liverpool after his late strike initiated the Reds’ meltdown.
Nathaniel Clyne, a former Red, may also start this game, but Cheick Doucoure is out.

Our Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Prediction
Liverpool have some of the best forwards in world football, and it can be seen in the fact that they’ve only failed to score once this season. While we don’t expect them all to feature in this match, this Liverpool side has goals in it.
Crystal Palace may not have a similar quality in attack, but they rarely fail to score. A Liverpool side with a porous defence will be too inviting for Eddie Nketiah and company. Our prediction for Liverpool v Crystal Palace is BTTS.
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace - Other Interesting Predictions
Liverpool to win
Liverpool may be injury-ravaged and struggling to piece together impressive results, but playing at home will always be an advantage. They will still be the favorites here despite their recent form, and the urge to avenge their earlier loss to Palace will also drive them. Our second prediction will be for Liverpool to win.
