Lille and Le Havre will be facing off in their next Ligue 1 game on Friday, both seeking to bounce back from defeats. Hosts Lille go into this game three points behind the top three while Le Havre are 11th. Lille are coming off a 3-1 defeat by PSG in their last league outing. For the second time in five league matches, they dropped points from a winning position. Yusuf Yazici gave Lille a sixth minute lead but it all went wrong for them thereafter, conceding three times. That marked their second straight defeat, having earlier lost 2-1 at Lyon in the French Cup. After two straight away matches, Lille will want to make amends when they get to play at home again. The last time they played at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, they thrashed Clermont 4-0. That marked their 10th unbeaten outing at home, winning eight of the 10 games. In Ligue 1 at home, Lille haven't lost in seven, winning five of them with clean sheets. In the first leg meeting this season, Lille won 2-0, their third win in four against Le Havre, with a clean sheet. The latest meeting was however their first since 2009.

Le Havre, like Lille, are also coming from two straight defeats. However, they have a longer winless run, having managed no victory in their last four matches. in two of those four matches, they conceded three times. Benjamin Bourigeaud’s goal condemned Le Havre to defeat in their last game, at home to Rennes. That was their seventh loss in the league this season and fifth time in 10 league matches that they failed to score. One of those losses was the one inflicted by Lille, in their first meeting this season. In eight league matches, they have now suffered four losses and they don’t carry to the match a strong away run. Les Ciel et Marine have no win in their last five away league matches, losing twice and also failing to score in two. This will be their 12th away league match this season; they have managed just one win in the 11 played so far.
