Libya haven't had a great run at the ongoing African Nations Championship and as things stand going into the third round of matches, they are eliminated from the competition. Former winners of this competition, Libya are bottom of Group A without a point and are set to face Ethiopia, third in the group with a point. Libya are coming from a 3-2 loss to Mozambique, which followed on from a 1-0 defeat at the hands of hosts Algeria. They led for the better part of their game against Mozambique, who turned the tide with three goals in 10 second half minutes, rendering Anias Saltou’s late strike insufficient. Ethiopia are also coming from a loss, falling 1-0 to hosts Algeria, but for them, there’s still some hope in the competition. They will be praying for an Algeria win over Mozambique in the other game of this group, while working to beat Libya by at least two unanswered goals. That will be a hard task for Ethiopia in their current scoring form. The Eastern Africa representatives have failed to score in four of their last five matches. They have one goal only in their last five matches while all the five games have produced under 2.5 goals. The loss to Algeria was Ethiopia’s first in five matches, while they have one win in the five matches too. The only point they’ve registered in this competition was in a 0-0 draw with Mozambique.
