The Gaughan Group Stadium sees Leyton Orient host Charlton Athletic in a League One London derby this weekend. The two rivals are neck and neck in the race for the playoffs. Can The O’s continue their excellent home form, or will the Addicks equally impressive recent run of results be enough to sway our prediction for this match in their favour?

The teams could not be closer in the League One table. Leyton Orient lie sixth with 53 points from 33 games and a +17 goal difference. Charlton are seventh, also with 53 points but a +13 goal difference, although they do have a game in hand on their rivals. Bolton are also on 53 points (+4) in the battle for that final playoff spot.

Orient’s recent home form is excellent. They have won six of their last seven, with their sole defeat coming against Stockport County. In their last nine games at home, they have won seven, drawn one and lost one, scoring 17 goals, conceding just three. However, they did lose their last game, 2-0 away to league leaders Birmingham City last weekend.

Despite winning all their last five at home, Charlton have won just one of their last four away, drawing one and losing two. They were in good shape in their last game against Exeter last weekend, recording a 3-0 win drawing them level on points with today’s opponents.
