Leylah Fernandez vs Amanda Anisimova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

The bottom half of the draw in the women's singles is in total disarray. Leylah Annie Fernandez is the highest seed left in this half and the Candian is only 17th on the seedings list. Fernandez has a tough task to get through to her first French Open quarter final as she takes on 27th seeded Amanda Anisimova. The winner of this match will take on unseeded opposition, either Martina Trevisan or Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Fernandez has struggled to build on her loss in the US Open final to Emma Raducanu last year, the same can be said of the victor in that match. The Canadian is in the fourth round at Roland Garros for the first time and has had wins over Kristina Mladenovic, Katerina Siniakova and a three-set victory over 14th seeded Belinda Bencic. It's a big improvement on clay court form as three tournaments this year have all seen her lose in the last 32.

Amanda Anisimova may be seeded ten places lower then her opponent but she is the worthy favourite to win this match. Her form on clay this year has been much better than that of Fernandez. The semi-finals were reached in Charleston and then quarter finals in both Madrid and Rome. Top players have been beaten too with wins over Aryna Sabalenka (twice), Belinda Bencic, Danielle Collins and Viktoria Azarenka. Naomi Osaka was added to that impressive list when Anisimova beat her in the first round of this tournament. Wins over Donna Vekic and Karolina Muchova have followed.
