RC Lens will be looking to keep their title challenge in the French Ligue 1 alive when they play host to ambitious Stade Reims in Match Day 35 action on Friday. Lens have stood out as the closest challengers to league leaders PSG and from this match they will be looking to close the gap at the top to three points, while 10th placed Reims seek to rise as well. Heading into this game, Lens are on three straight wins and look on course to securing the automatic Champions League place after recent wins over their direct competitors – Monaco and Marseille. A 2-1 win over Marseille in the last game denied Lens a third straight clean sheet but they have four straight wins at home and are undefeated in the last six at their backyard, five of them being wins. In the last 22 home matches, Lens have lost just once – against Nice at the start of February.
Reims are coming into this game from a 1-0 win over Lille, their first win in the last five matches. Marshall Munetsi netted the only goal in that win and switching to playing away from home, they will hope to recover from two straight defeats on the road. Two of Reims’ last three away matches have produced over 2.5 goals but they’ve failed to score in three of their last five away matches. Reims will be seeking their first win in six meetings with Lens, having lost twice in the last three meetings.
