There’s a lot of stability in RB Leipzig’s recent run and they will be outright favorites when they step out to host Hamburg in the German Cup in their next game. After a bad start, Leipzig have found their footing and will welcome this game being at home. They are coming from a 3-2 win over Hertha Berlin, though it was not a very comfortable ending to the game after they had gone to half time leading 3-0. That was their fourth win in five matches and also the fourth time in five that they managed two or more goals. Three of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and both sides have scored in three of the last five games.

Hamburg are playing in the second tier, Bundesliga 2 and are actually doing well there, being third, with 25 points, just two behind league leaders Darmstadt. However, in their last two matches they’ve gone winless and they’ll want to quickly forget the most recent one, having lost 3-0 to St. Pauli. That defeat was also the first time in five matches that they failed to score. They have scored two or more goals in three of the last five matches, while they have managed just one clean sheet in the five games. Twice in the last five matches, Hamburg have conceded more than a goal, with three matches producing over 2.5 goals.
