Kimberly Birrell vs Olivia Gadecki Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Brisbane

Qualifier Olivia Gadecki takes on fellow Australian Kimberly Birrell in the Brisbane International first round. The winner will be up against the second seed Elina Rybakova in round two. Gadecki was ranked 126th at the start of this WTA 500 hard court event. That was one place below her career high and she had to qualify to get into the main draw. That was successfully achieved with wins over Aleksandra Krunic and Valeria Savinykh, both in straight sets. The year began with her ranked 202nd and most of 2023 has been spent on the lesser ITF circuit and the Australian has enjoyed some success. Earlier this month Gadecki got to the final of an ITF tournament in Australia. That was her sixth ITF final of the year with one title being won. There has also been some good results in Grand Slam events with the second round reached at the 2023 Australian Open and making round one of the US Open. 

Kimberly Birrell is 11 places above her opponent in the latest ranking list. The 25-year-old was in a career high position of 100th in September of this year. Birrell received a wild card to get into the main draw of this tournament. The Australian has also had success on the ITF circuit with two titles won. One was on a hard court, the other on a carpet surface. Birrell didn't have a great end to the 2023 season and comes into this tournament with three of her last four matches being lost and all to players ranked outside the top 200. A win over Gadecki will be her first as all three previous matches have ended in her losing. We go for Gadecki to get a fourth win over Birrell.
