Kilmarnock host Celtic at Rugby Park for the third round of the Scottish Premiership. After their draw against Dundee United, they faced off against Rangers losing 2-0 at Ibrox Park against a much superior side. However, they will be glad to see their return on home soil, where they have been doing relatively well lately. Specifically, Kilmarnock have won seven of their last nine home games, and are unbeaten in normal time in their last nine games. They also have a good scoring streak under their belts, scoring in all of their past sixteen home games. The hosts have not done well in recent games against Celtic however, whom they have only beaten twice in their last twenty games at the Rugby Park.
Celtic found it tough Ross County last time out, yet were saved by two late goals to eventually beat them 3-1. They are thus first in the league together with Rangers, having won both of their games so far. Ange Postecoglou’s side also extended their unbeaten run, which now stretches for thirteen games. The game against Ross County showed however that their defence is still not up to its best, with the visitors having kept just five clean sheets in that unbeaten run. It is even worse for Celtic away from home, where they have conceded in all of their last four games, but they can count on a positive recent record away at Kilmarnock, where they have won three of their last four games.
