World number 25 Karen Khachanov faces Ugo Humbert in the last eight of the men's singles at the Tokyo Olympics. Khachanov is representing the Russian Olympic Committee and is the 12th seed for this tournament. Whoever wins this match will take on either Pablo Carreno Busta or Daniil Mededev in the semi-final. Khachanov reached the last sixteen at Wimbledon and has reproduced that form in Tokyo. He had a few problems in the first round though, losing the first set to Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka but then won the next two sets for the loss of three games. A straight sets win oer James Duckworth followed and then a three set victory over eighth seeded Diego Schwartzmann.

Ugo Humbert is the 14th seed in Tokyo and world ranked 28th. The Frenchman won the Halle grass tournament in June but then lost to Nick Kyrgios 9-7 in the final set of their first round match at Wimbledon. After a straight sets win over Pablo Andujar, his second round match at the Olympics against Miomir Kecmanovic proved a lot tougher. The first set was lost and Humbert had to battle hard to win the next two 7-6 7-5. He lost the first set in the last sixteen too but fought back to knock out third seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas. A bet on over 22.5 games is the bet for this match.
