After finishing last season bottom of the Europa League table with just three points, Qarabag defied the odds by navigating a tricky qualification campaign to return to the Champions League this term.
In week one, they firmly announced themselves as one to watch this year by coming back from 2-0 down to beat Benfica 3-2 in Lisbon, marking their first-ever victory in the UCL proper.
