Kaizer Chiefs will face off against a struggling Richards Bay in the PSL on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently in sixth place in the league standings, while the visitors are down in 15th spot. After an underwhelming start to the 2023-24 league season, Kaizer Chiefs seem to have found a little bit of form lately. They claimed a second consecutive 1-0 league win in their last outing, beating Polokwane City, which followed an away win over Moroka Swallows a week earlier. Those results have taken them to 20 points in 14 games this season,  five shy of Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates in third place. Chiefs home form has been mixed this season, with a record of three wins, two draws and two losses in seven games, though both those defeats came in their last three. In addition, AmaKhosi have not been as prolific as we have seen in the past, currently on 14 goals, averaging one per 90 minutes. Nevertheless, the Glamour Boys won the last meeting between these sides 1-0 last season and are the bookmakers’ favourite in this one. 

Meanwhile, after avoiding the drop by just three points last season, Richards Bay look as though they are going to battle relegation again this term. They have managed just ten points from their 14 league games this season and occupy the sole relegation playoff spot as things stand. The visitors are five points from safety but do have a seven-point buffer over bottom club Cape Town Spurs. Richards Bay suffered their eighth defeat of the season in their last match, beaten 3-2 by Royal AM. That marked their third consecutive match without a win in all competitions, while they have only picked up two wins in the PSL this season. The visitors are also heading into this match following back-to-back away losses and are winless in their last three. The Natal Rich Boys are likely to struggle to get anything from this match.
