A crucial mid-table matchup in the PSL will play out this week, with Kaizer Chiefs playing host to Golden Arrows on Tuesday evening. The hosts are currently in sixth place in the league standings, while the visitors are tenth. With the mid-table being very tightly compact, three points will be of huge significance here. For Chiefs, a win could see them move up two places, above rivals Orlando Pirates, who are currently fourth. However, that will require Amakhosi to bring an end to a four-match winless run in all competitions. During that time, they were dumped out of the Nedbank Cup by lower-division Milford at the end of last month, and they followed that up with a 0-0 draw at home to Moroka Swallows last week. Notably, the Glamour Boys have now failed to score in their last three matches in all competitions. At Soccer City this season, Chiefs have recorded four wins, three draws, and two losses in nine PSL contests. The hosts are the favourites in this one. 

Meanwhile, it has not been smooth sailing for Golden Arrows recently, either. Like their opponents, they were sent packing from the Nedbank Cup a couple of weeks ago by TS Galaxy and were unable to bounce back last week in the league, losing 1-0 at home to Sekhukhune United. Arrows are now on a three-match losing streak in all competitions and have won just one of their last nine league games - a 3-0 win over Moroka Swallows before the international break. Fair to say, something has gone terribly wrong for The Backheel Boys since the start of November, as prior to that, they had lost only one of their first nine games this season and beat this opponent 2-1 in the reverse fixture back in October. Another defeat here could see the visitors drop as many as three places in the league standings.
