Last year's Coppa Italia finalists, Juventus, will get their 2022/23 cup pursuit underway when they host Monza at the Juventus Stadium on Thursday night. The hosts were on an incredible run of form on either side of the World Cup break but saw their progress halted by a free-flowing Napoli side that proved too much for them, overcoming The Old Lady by five goals to one in Naples last week. That result was one of only three defeats that Juventus has suffered this season; however, none of them were on home soil. At home, Juventus is undefeated in nine matches this season, recording seven wins and two draws so far. They've also registered 21 goals scored in that time. Juventus are the record-holders in this competition, lifting the trophy 14 times in the past, and with one of the best home records in Italy, they will fancy themselves to go through in front of their passionate home fans. 

Monzas cup run last season was a short one which saw them bow out in the first round. Their form away from home this term has been their major weakness, winning just two of their nine matches, along with two draws and five losses. However, their form since the world cup has been much better, and they find themselves three games unbeaten, including a crucial 3-2 win away to Cremonese last weekend, which followed a very credible 2-2 draw to Inter Milan. This is the first time that Monza has made it to the Round of 16, but they will need to overcome one of the favourites to win this tournament if they wish to go any further, which is going to take an almighty effort.
