Serena Williams is chasing her ninth Women's Singles title at Wimbledon and finally she gets to meet a seeded player. She had a tough time at first in her quarter-final dropping the first set to Camila Giorgi before bouncing back to win the next two sets 6-3 6-4. This is only her third tournament since she returned to tennis after giving birth to her daughter last year. The American couldn't have asked for a more straightforward draw with two of her opponents so far being qualifiers.It's not often she gets to the Wimbledon semi-final and faces a player seeded 12 or hope that her performance at Wimbledon will get her back in the world's top 100. Serena has won her last six Wimbledon semi-finals and will be confident of making it a magnificent seven.

Julia Goerges is the 13th seed and is having the best fortnight of her career. She first started playing Grand Slam tournaments 11 years ago and this is the first time she's managed to get past the fourth round. Between 2013 and 2017 she lost in the first round of Wimbledon five times in a row and in ten years she's only won five matches. Her form for the past eight months has been good as she ended last year by winning the Kremlin Cup and winning a tournament in New Zealand at the start of this year. Goerges has only had two previous matches against her opponent, losing both in straight sets. So far in this tournament she has beaten two seeded players though she had to go to 10-8 in the final set to get past Barbora Styrcova in the third round. Williams says she hasn't quite got back to her best after her time off-court but she will have more than enough to win this match.
