The penultimate Night of the league stage in the 2026 Premier League Darts season kicks off with Josh Rock taking on Gian van Veen in Birmingham. Rocky is bottom of the table while the Giant is in sixth place, which sees us leaning toward a victory for the Dutchman as our match prediction.
Josh Rock’s hopes of reaching the Playoffs in his debut Premier League campaign were ended last week in Leeds when he suffered an opening-round 6-5 loss to Luke Humphries.
Rocky has struggled to find his best in this tournament, recording the fewest 180s (53), the lowest three-dart average (94.33), and the lowest checkout rate (31.50%) of all participants.
On the positive, though, Rock did win his second-ever European Tour title on Sunday, beating Kevin Doets 8-6 in the final of the Austrian Darts Open.
Meanwhile, after losing to Stephen Bunting 6-5 in the first round in Leeds last week, Gian van Veen is now three points behind the top four and could be eliminated from Playoff contention this week.
The Giant’s scoring has dipped in recent weeks, now averaging 95.70, including just 54 180s. However, he has been solid on the outer ring, converting 42.39% of his checkout attempts.
Van Veen suffered a first-round defeat at the Austrian Darts Open against Madars Razma and has now won just four of his last 10 matches in all competitions.
