João Sousa vs Casper Ruud Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Geneva Open

The day before the French Open begins, Casper Ruud bids to retain his Geneva Open title. The second seed is up against unseeded Joao Sousa in the final. World number eight Casper Ruud has already won one clay court title this year, winning in Buenos Aires. It'd be a good confidence boost if he can win one just ahead of Roland Garros. He's had a good European clay court season with quarter finals in both Barcelona and Munich and reaching the last four in Rome. He's made it to this final without dropping a set and in his semi final beat the fourth seeded Reilly Opelka 7-6 7-5. This could be a dress rehearsal of a third round match at Roland Garros. The pair have met twice in the past, Sousa won four years ago on the Challenger Tour and last year saw Ruud win on the ATP Tour. Both of those matches were on clay.

Attempting to dethrone Ruud is the world number 79 J Sousa. He's up to 62 in the live rankings and can move to 51 if winning this final. He's also won one clay court title this year. That was an ATP 250 series event in Pune, though he didn't beat any top 60 ranked players that week. His European clay court season hasn't gone too well with a previous best of a last 16 in Marrakech. He failed to qualify for Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome, so this week has certainly improved his hopes of doing well in Paris. He's not dropped a set on his way to this final and he beat Richard Gasquet in the last four. This is tougher though against one of the leading clay court players in the world. Go for Ruud to win in straight sets.
