Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova will vie for one of the US Open semi-final berths. The two will be meeting for the fourth time, and the winner will face either Aryna Sabalenka or Marketa Vondrousova next. Read on for our prediction of the match.

Pegula doesn’t hold the advantage in this matchup, having lost their last two meetings. However, her sole win against Krejcikova was at the Grand Slam level, in the 2023 Australian Open.

The American was a finalist here last year, and she is looking to go a step further this time, to win her first-ever Grand Slam title. This season, she’s won three titles already.

A local favorite, Pegula hasn’t dropped a set so far. After beating Ann Li in the last round, she enters the last eight placed eighth in the live rankings.

Krejcikova has had to sweat it out in her last two matches. She will have the momentum here after seeing off Emma Navarro and another homegirl, Taylor Townsend. However, the wins proceeded to three sets each, and fatigue could be a concern.

The Czech player has been on the court here for eight hours, which is three more than Pegula. Her match against Townsend lasted over three hours, testing her endurance after an injury-plagued 2024-2025.

Beating Townsend improved her season to 12-6, and she’s now 41st in the live rankings. Krejcikova hasn’t gone past quarter-finals this season and has also never been past this stage at the US Open.
