Jesper De Jong vs Francesco Passaro Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

Qualifier Francesco Passaro has only played five outdoor hard court matches this year. He takes on unseeded Jesper de Jong in round one of the US Open. Looking at their two previous meetings, our prediction is that there will be more than 0.5 tie-breaks played here.

In round two, the winner will face either 31st seed Zizou Bergs or unseeded Carlos Taberner.

De Jong was 99th in the last ranking list with his opponent down in 207th place.

This year has seen de Jong win just two of his ten matches played on this surface.  That's compared to 20 on clay courts.  Those two wins he's had came earlier this month when he made it to the last eight of the Quebec City Challenger Tour event.event.

These two players have met twice, both on clay. De Jong won them both. They both included two tie-breaks.

Francesco Passaro also spends most of his time playing on clay courts. Of his 30 matches played this year, 22 have been on clay courts. He has only played five outdoor hard court matches in 2026, but has won four of them.

Two were in the Australian Open where he lost in the second qualifying round.  The other three were in the qualifying rounds for this Grand Slam. His five matches have seen a tie-break in all but one.
