Stefanos Tsitsipas will hope for a better week in Cincinnati than he had in Montreal. He begins his Cincinnati Masters campaign with a match against unseeded Jan-Lennard Struff. Read on to discover our match prediction.

World number 11 Tsitsipas lost to Kei Nishikori in last week's Rogers Cup. He then sacked his father as coach and this is his first match since then. It was a poor result against Nishikori but his form hasn't been that bad in recent weeks.

He reached the last eight of the Paris Olympics and the semi-finals in Gstaad. Both were played on clay and now he returns to playing on hard courts. One semi-final and another quarter-final have been his best hard court performances this year.

He's played nine previous matches against Struff and leads him 5-4. Two matches played this year have been shared but they were on clay and grass. On hard courts, Tsitsipas leads 3-1 but his only loss was in this tournament, though that was played five years ago.

Jan-Lennard Struff is the world number 36 but up four places in the live rankings. That puts him in with a chance of being seeded for the upcoming US Open. Struff is playing his first tournament since the Paris Olympics.

He reached round two in that clay court tournament but then withdrew due to injury. The German last played a hard court tournament in March when losing in the second round to Alex de Minaur. and has had a disappointing year on this surface.
