Ipswich Town will welcome Blackburn Rovers on Saturday in round eight of the English Championship. The hosts have been in excellent form and find themselves in third place in the table while Blackburn are down in 12th. Ipswich have won six of their seven league games to record 18 points. They are tied with second-placed Leicester and trail leaders Preston by a point. Kieran McKenna’s men have won their last four matches. They beat Southampton 1-0 away from home on Tuesday for their second successive clean sheet. The Blues have looked more assured when away from home this season with three of their four clean sheets coming on the road. Ipswich haven’t lost to Blackburn at home in eight fixtures.

Blackburn Rovers have been plagued by inconsistency. They have won three matches which is the same number of games they have lost. This uncertain start has seen them drop two points from the top six. Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men suffered their second loss in three matches last time out as they fell 3-1 at home to Sunderland. Rovers have been good on the offensive end as they have managed nine goals. It is at the opposite end of the pitch where they have struggled. Saturday’s visitors have let in 12 goals in their seven league games, a tally that is topped by only three other teams.
