Tour of Flanders Predictions & Betting tips - International
by Matthew Newman |
The Tour of Flanders is the second monument of the cycling season with the action on Sunday. It is a race that has been dominated by two riders over the last six years, so let’s make a prediction to see if one of them wins again.
The 2025 winner was Tadej Pogacar, also successful in 2023. A third win this year would make him just the eighth rider to achieve that feat. He has ridden just the Strade Bianche and Milan-San Remo so far this season, winning both, so he looks to maintain his perfect record here.
No rider has ever won this race on four occasions, a record that Mathieu van der Poel will look to break. He was successful in 2020, 2022 and 2024, so perhaps that record will continue. He was only 8th in Milan-San Remo and just 35th at In Flanders Fields last Sunday but he won the E3 Saxo Classic in between them.
If it is not to be one of the big two, then Remco Evenepoel could be the man. He arrives from the Volta a Catalunya where he finished fifth overall. Twice a winner of Liege-Bastogne-Liege, he rides this race for the first time, which has to make him of interest.
Wout van Aert was third in Milan-San Remo, going one place better in the sprint finish which concluded the Dwars door Vlaanderen last weekend. 4th in this race in 2023 and 2025, he is an each way option.
